Borbála Takácsné Tóth has been working at the Regional Centre for Energy Policy Research (REKK) of Corvinus University since 2004. As a founding member of REKK, she has led numerous international and domestic consulting projects, often using the European Gas Market Model as a primary analytical tool.

Her main areas of expertise include regional cooperation, security of supply, energy geopolitics, infrastructure development and investment initiatives in the gas sector, as well as gas market competition and regulation.

She obtained her PhD in 2023 from the Doctoral Program in International Relations and Security Studies at Corvinus University of Budapest. She earned her M.A. in International Relations from Central European University (CEU) in 2001, and graduated as an economist from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences in 1998.

She also spent five years working as a civil servant in public administration, primarily in the field of energy regulation. Between 2001 and 2003, she served as Head of the President’s Cabinet for International Relations at the Hungarian Energy Office.
